LAS VEGAS — Tech.Vegas today launched Community Wire, a press release program that gives the organizations and startups building Southern Nevada’s technology ecosystem a dedicated place to announce their milestones. The program’s goal is to connect the Las Vegas startup and technology communities by making it easy to see who is building here and what they have accomplished.
Community Wire is built on a simple principle: organizations that build the local ecosystem publish news free, and companies that sell services to it pay a standard rate. Every release, free or paid, meets the same editorial standard.
Where Press Releases Are Featured
- The Tech.Vegas blog. Every approved release is published as a permanent, searchable post in the Community Wire section of the Tech.Vegas blog.
- The Tech.Vegas email newsletter. Every release published that week is listed in the newsletter’s new Community Wire section, which goes to subscribers across Southern Nevada’s startup and technology community.
The Social Upgrade
Any press release can add the Social Upgrade for $100. Tech.Vegas produces a short-form video reel about the announcement and posts it to every Tech.Vegas social media channel, extending the news beyond the blog and newsletter. The upgrade is available on both free and paid releases.
Who Publishes Free
Free publishing is reserved for approved members who build Southern Nevada’s technology ecosystem. Both memberships are free and approved by the Tech.Vegas editorial team.
- Ecosystem Partners: unlimited free press releases. Universities and colleges; nonprofits focused on technology, education, research, or science; professional associations; accelerators, incubators, and community groups; and government and economic development entities.
- Local Startup Members: two free press releases per year. Startups qualify when they hold an active Nevada business license with a Southern Nevada location, and either have a product customers can buy or use today or have raised outside funding from an investor or a grant. Startups of every kind qualify, from consumer apps and fintech to hardware, health, gaming, and hospitality technology, as long as customers pay for the company’s own product rather than its team’s time.
Who Does Not Qualify for Free Publishing
- Service providers, including agencies, consultancies, law and accounting firms, recruiters, development shops, and managed-service providers. This includes AI agencies and automation consultancies that build for clients.
- Out-of-state companies without a Nevada business license and a Southern Nevada location.
- Companies still at the idea stage, without a product on the market or outside funding. A waitlist, prototype, or pitch deck alone does not qualify.
- Cohort participation alone. Joining an accelerator or incubator does not qualify a company by itself; every startup must meet the tests above.
These organizations are welcome to publish through the paid option.
The Paid Option
Anyone with Southern Nevada news can publish a press release for $199. Paid releases receive the same placement on the blog and in the newsletter, go through the same editorial review, and are labeled “Paid release.” If a paid release is promotional rather than news, Tech.Vegas offers to publish it as a Business Spotlight at no additional cost; if a paid release is declined, it is refunded in full. Paid products fund the production of Tech.Vegas, including the event calendar, the newsletter, and free publishing for ecosystem members.
News, Not Advertising
Community Wire publishes milestones: funding rounds and grants, product launches, key hires, partnerships and contracts, expansions, cohort announcements, and awards. Promotional content has its own home in the Business Spotlight, a $199 editorial feature written by the Tech.Vegas team and labeled as sponsored.
