Our goal is to connect the Las Vegas startup and technology communities. Tech.Vegas brings together founders, builders, investors, universities, and the organizations that support them by sharing the news, events, and people shaping Southern Nevada’s technology ecosystem. This policy explains what we publish, who publishes for free, and what we don’t accept.
Our Guiding Principle
If you build the Southern Nevada tech ecosystem, publishing news is free. If you sell services to it, publishing is paid. Every submission, free or paid, meets the same editorial standard. Paid products fund the production of Tech.Vegas, including the event calendar, the newsletter, and free publishing for ecosystem members. Payment never guarantees publication.
What We Publish
Press Releases: News
Press releases announce real, verifiable milestones with a clear Southern Nevada connection:
- Funding rounds, grants, and acquisitions
- Product launches: a product customers can use today, not a waitlist or a sale
- Key hires, promotions, and leadership changes
- Partnerships and contracts
- Office openings and expansions
- Cohort and demo day announcements by the accelerator or program itself
- Awards and recognitions
Approved press releases are published on the Tech.Vegas blog and included in the Tech.Vegas email newsletter. Paid press releases are labeled “Paid release.”
Business Spotlight: Promotion
Advertising, sales offers, service announcements, and company profiles belong in a Business Spotlight: a 700–900 word feature written by our editors from your material, published on the Tech.Vegas blog, included in the email newsletter, and labeled as sponsored. You’ll receive a draft to review for factual accuracy before publication.
Events belong on the Tech.Vegas calendar.
Pricing
| Price | Social Upgrade | |

Free Press Releases
- Ecosystem Partners: unlimited free press releases. Universities and colleges; nonprofits focused on technology, education, research, or science; professional associations; startup support organizations such as accelerators, incubators, and community groups; and government and economic development entities.
- Local Startup Members: two free press releases per membership year. Nevada-based technology startups with a Southern Nevada location and either a working product or outside funding.
Both memberships are free, approved by our editorial team, and renewed annually. To apply, create a free Tech.Vegas account, then submit the membership application while logged in. We review applications within 5 business days. Approved partners check out press releases at $0; approved startups receive two single-use codes. See qualifications and apply →
Service providers (agencies, law and accounting firms, recruiters, development shops, consultants) and out-of-state companies are welcome at standard pricing.
PR agencies: eligibility follows your client. A release filed on behalf of an eligible member publishes on that member’s terms.
Editorial Standards
- Every submission is reviewed before publication, typically within 2 business days.
- Write in the third person, skip hype words unless quoted, and explain technology in plain English.
- Facts must be verifiable, quotes must come from real, named people, and each release needs a named media contact who stands behind it.
- Press releases may be distributed to other outlets; exclusivity isn’t required. You must own the release or be authorized to distribute it, and it can’t reproduce another publication’s articles or reporting.
- We judge writing on newsworthiness and accuracy, not the tools used to produce it. Generic, boilerplate, or unedited AI-generated copy will be returned for revision.
- Press releases run 400–800 words with a headline under 100 characters, at least one landscape image (1200×628 minimum) you have rights to use, and no more than one outbound link.
- If a paid press release is promotional rather than news, we’ll offer to publish it as a Business Spotlight at no additional cost. If we decline a paid submission outright, you receive a full refund.
- Tech.Vegas has final authority over headlines, edits for clarity and length, placement, and publication.
Prohibited Content
- Speculative token, coin, or NFT promotions (factual news about Nevada blockchain companies is permitted)
- MLM, network marketing, and get-rich-quick or guaranteed-return claims
- Online gambling platforms
- Adult content and political content
- Content that is misleading, defamatory, or infringes others’ rights
