Hello AI Meetup Members!
This month, Joshua Stacy is back with another interesting AI topic:
Cracking the Spine of Unfairness: The Future of Law in a Post-AI World
Description:
Is the legal system truly built for you? Or is it built to confuse, delay, and gatekeep?
In this thought-provoking talk, technologist and civic reform advocate Joshua Stacy explores how artificial intelligence is disrupting the legal world—not by replacing lawyers, but by empowering the people.
We’ll start with the basics: how the U.S. legal system is designed to be accountable to the people, including how jury nullification gives everyday citizens the power to reject unjust applications of the law. From there, we’ll examine how AI is finally making it possible for non-lawyers to meaningfully engage with complex legal systems—without needing to shell out $500 an hour.
Joshua isn’t an attorney. But he’s filed appeals, argued motions, drafted federal briefs, and even ran for office on a justice reform platform. He’s lived through the system—and used AI to push back against it.
This talk will cover:
Why the current legal model depends on gatekeeping and conflict
How AI changes the legal playing field for citizens, activists, and small businesses
The risks of AI “hallucinations”—and why they’re solvable
Why democratized legal access may be the most important shift since the founding of our justice system
Bring your questions, bring your curiosity, and bring your frustration with the way things are. This is a conversation about what’s possible—when people get their hands on power.
As usual, I encourage you to show up at 10:00 am for the TechAlley networking event and explore all the other meetups hosted at TechAlley! See [https://TechAlley.org.](https://techalley.org./)
