CBER forecasts the population of Clark County could grow to as much as 3 million by 2044, up from 2.4 million.

Professor Nambisan has more than 36 years of experience in transportation research and leadership, including nearly three decades leading research centers and institutes across the U.S. He has directed more than 185 projects spanning safety, data analytics, policy support, and transportation systems management, and has authored over 180 peer-reviewed publications. His contributions to transportation in Nevada were recognized by a gubernatorial proclamation designating January 31, 2007 as “Professor Shashi Nambisan Day.” He is also a frequent research colleague with the Center for Business and Economic Research.

Andrew Kjellman oversees federal transportation funding and leads regional planning initiatives for the RTC, guiding the agency’s response to Southern Nevada’s population and visitor growth. His work focuses on improving roads and expanding transportation options to support the region’s continued development. Kjellman began his career in Washington state and joined the RTC in 2011, rising through the organization to his current role as Senior Director.

Antonio Castelan leads public relations and community engagement for Brightline West, the high-speed rail project connecting Las Vegas to Southern California.
