SUMMARY:Building MCP Servers in Python
DESCRIPTION:The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the standard layer between an AI model and the outside world — the conduit that carries structured requests out to external tools and data and brings results back\, over one consistent protocol. In this hands-on hour we start from zero: what MCP is\, why it exists\, and how its client–server architecture works. Then we build a working MCP server in Python from scratch\, starting with the high-level FastMCP decorators and dropping into the low-level SDK to see what runs underneath. We finish by taking that server to production: remote HTTP transport\, authentication\, and deployment. No prior MCP knowledge required\, and all Python experience levels are welcome. You’ll leave able to write\, run\, and ship your own server.

SUMMARY:Building Better Sites w/ WordPress: Lessons from Modernizing a Large Org.
DESCRIPTION:Building Better Websites with WordPress: Lessons from Modernizing a Large Organization. \nWhat does it take to build a WordPress website that people actually enjoy using? \nOver the past year\, I’ve been helping modernize WordPress websites for a large organization\, and I’ve learned that the biggest challenges usually aren’t technical. They’re about understanding your audience\, making content easy to find\, improving accessibility\, keeping sites secure\, and creating a better experience for everyone. \nIn this meetup\, I’ll share some of the lessons\, mistakes\, and wins from that journey\, along with practical ideas you can apply whether you’re building a personal blog\, a business website\, a nonprofit\, or managing dozens of WordPress sites. \nThis won’t be a sales pitch or a deep dive into code. Just a casual conversation about what works\, what doesn’t\, and how WordPress continues to evolve. \nYour presenter: Manny Costa is the Web Developer for the City of Henderson\, a longtime WordPress developer\, and co-organizer of the Las Vegas WordPress Meetup. He’s been building websites for over 30 years and enjoys helping others create faster\, more accessible\, and user-friendly WordPress websites through real-world experience and community collaboration. \nThanks to Corporate Coworking for hosting our meetup! They’re offering all attendees a free day pass. If you’d like one\, just see me after the meetup.

SUMMARY:NextGen CISO - Black Hat Las Vegas
DESCRIPTION:The move to CISO is the hardest jump in your career. The rules of the game completely change the moment you hit the executive floor and nobody hands you a manual. We’ve gathered the world’s most respected security leaders to change that. NextGen CISO is a half-day Forum (of panels\, presentations\, and breakout sessions) designed exclusively for the next generation of security executives (nominated by sitting CISOs who believe you’re ready for the role). This isn’t a conference. There are no vendor pitches\, no panels for the sake of panels. Just the hard-won lessons\, unwritten rules\, and honest conversations that most people only get years into the job – if ever. What to expect: ***We are building the agenda now*** The Road to the Chair – Caleb Sima (Founding General Partner – WhiteRabbit) + Chaim Mazal (CISO – GitLab) First 90 Days – Nicole Grinstead (CISO – Roblox) + Jake Schroeder (CISO – LVT) On the Hook – David Hirsch (Former Head of SEC Cyber / Crypto Enforcement) The State of the Search – Michael Piacente (Managing Partner – Hitch Partners) + Tom Alcock (Founder and Managing Partner – Code Red Partners) The Job at the Frontier – Bil Harmer (CISO – Supabase) + Aaron Brown (Head of Security – Mercor) Open Q&A with the room Who’s in the room: Attendance is by nomination only. Current CISOs nominate their top successors\, the practitioners they believe are ready to make the jump. If you’re here\, someone vouched for you. Following this event: Attendees are invited to continue the conversation at The Construct – an exclusive evening reception immediately following the Forum. SUMMARY:What's (Real | Fake) with AI?!
DESCRIPTION:Having a hard time figuring out what’s real and what’s fake these days? You’re not alone. While we have no silver bullets\, we do have faith in the power of really smart\, interested people with exactly the right mix of structure and chaos coming together to figure it out — or make a really loud bang trying. That’s right\, we are taking over The Punk Rock Museum in Vegas again this year kicking off Black Hat week with a room full of outsiders and outliers – the ones who ask why not instead of why! We didn’t plan on doing it again. And then we couldn’t not. Come party with the most genuine band of security-obsessed ride-or-die anarchist builders. The Polaris Collective is back at the Punk Rock Museum. August 3\, 2026. Monday night\, doors open at 5p. This year’s theme: What’s (Real|Fake) with A?! Panel 1 – “What’s (Real|Fake) with AI: Connecting Intention and Proof” Intentions are Cheap… Proof Isn’t. Where do intention\, proof\, and control intersect and support each other – and where do they fall apart? What bits can be trusted when media\, technology delivery\, and trusted authority are all besieged by doubt? With sharp takes from GetReal Security Head of Threat Intel Tom Cross\, Cyber + AI expert/builder Daniel Miessler\, and ResembleAI’s Zohaib Ahmed\, all who understand both where the edge of defense innovation is happening and where evolving AI threats are going in duping human and machine detection. Fireside Chat with Kenneth Huang (CSA\, OWASP AIVSS Lead\, Advanced AI Society) and Mo Sadek of the OWASP GenAI Project on Proof-of-Control – and intention – technologies for AI Governance. A conversation about trust\, verification\, and the gap between what AI systems claim and what they deliver. Panel 2 – “AI Gatekeepers & Anarchists – Risk Control in Chaos” Finding the balance between chaos and control. What is the role of a marketplace – and who decides what gets in? A debate about power\, access\, and accountability in AI ecosystems. And how AI Risk Governance can level the playing field – or close the gate. With Chad Weinman of the FAIR Institute and Chris Fuller\, CPO (Spacewalk) Closing – Musicians of InfoSec Live discussion + performance from the musicians of the security community. Because the best conversations end with live music. … and of course our Partner #1 in Punk Rock\, our host…. COMMUNITY PARTNERS Advanced AI Society FAIR Institute CO-CREATED BY CodeRed Partners Blue Cycle Miscreants If you were in the room last year\, you know why . If you weren’t – this is your shot.
